KD0JBN (Don)

KD0JBN (Don)

Current Status: Planning on working the Colorado QSO Party and the Tennessee QSO Party this weekend. (...more)

Location: St Louis, MO

About: I got my technician license on December 13, 2004 as KCØTNJ. Got the vanity call of KDØJBN on January 10, 2006 and upgraded to General on March 19, 2007. I primarily run 40 meters, 20 meters for HF – and 2 meter on the local repeaters. Along with radio, I am also a Boy Scout leader for my sons’ Troop. Which is why some of my posted pictures are from stations I’ve set up for Jamboree On The Air.

Very cool Don, well tell Eric “hello” for me. Its fun operating in “VE Land” and I saw the shirt in the photo. Now, it looks like your having lots of fun. I hope you enjoy your summer. My station is off the air right now while I work on my tower. I hope to be back on again in a few weeks. Now stay out of the bad WX and keep an eye on the rivers. We have had lots of rain and flooding up here and its headed your way!

Looks like you had a great Field day! Who is wearing the “Canada True North Shirt”?

I some times operate in Manitoba VE4. Well, I have every year for the last 3-4 years. A few years back I really stacked up the QSO’s!

OK, pretty cool photos. Thanks for posting the pics! 73’s Mark kb0nmq

Txe, Don. Appreciate the help. Got the certificate. Was an honor working W0L, especially since it was my first event station ever worked, so kinda a special moment in my Ham life.
Again Txe.
And as always 73 to you and the gang in St Louis

No problem, Don. Appreciate the help.
Not often do you get to talk to someone that witnessed history, especially something like that. So it’s understandable that she messed up the call. Even i as young as I am, make mistakes sometimes.
And with that sweet “grandma” voice, can’t be mad at her either.

By the way, do you know when they update the online log? Just curious so I know when I can download my certificate.

Again great group of guys and gals, down there, but then again all the Hams I’ve met are.
73, Matt

Cool to travel with your rig though! Sounds like you had fun? ND was a tough one for me. If you still need ND try 8.925 daily in mid-late afternoons for the PICO net.

Any DX to report DON? I have been working some new countries on 15m and watching the Olympics when away from the shack. Off duty today (monday the 15th). Lots of Caribean stations on 15m. Cuba Ans Dom Replk, some South American station and now XE’s. I am hearing beacons on 10m but not able to make a QSO!

I’m feeling fine now, but I was sore for a couple days – Thank you so much for your concern, Car has minor body damage but is still drivable. -Lisa W5FOX

Thanks for posting on my Wall! I’m about 100mi northeast of St Louis in Macomb Illinois. Thanks for your comment about Julie, I think she looks pretty.
